Anil Kapoor Celebrating His Birthday Today

Anil Kapoor is one of the popular and finest actors that the Hindi film industry is gifted with. According to his career horoscope, Apart from being an actor, he also produced films and appeared in international films as well. He has been in this industry for more than thirty years now and considered as one of the top actors during 1980s.  Anil Kapoor was born on December 24, 1959 and he is celebrating his Birthday today amidst family members and friends. Anil Kapoor has an elder brother, Boney Kapoor is the famous film producer and Sanjay Kapoor is his younger brother, who is also an actor. Anil's wife is Sunita Kapoor, whom he wed in 1984.  In his marriage life, this couple has two daughters, actress Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor and son, Harshvardhan. The film industry welcomed him for the first time in 1979 through the film, Hamare Tumhare, where he was given supportive role. His first leading role happened with the film Woh Saat Din. He also appeared in Telugu film, Vamsa Vruksham and Mani Ratnam's Kannada film, Pallavi Anu Pallavi in 1983.

His role as a tapori in the film Mashal, won him the first Filmfare Award in the best supporting actor category. He went to work in a number of films from then onwards and particularly, in mid 1980s, he worked in many hit films like Meri Jung, Mr. India, Tezaab, Ram Lakhan, Parinda and others. For Tezaab, he received the best actor filmfare award. Kishen Kanhaiya was the film where he played dual roles and this became a huge hit. The other film that marks the best work of Yash Chopra till date is Lamhe. In this film, Anil Kapoor starred opposite Sridevi. The next movie for which he received his second filmfare best actor award is Beta. His career graph rose high in 1990s through hit films like Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Khel, 1942: A Love Story and others. The year 2000 was very lucky for him as he won his first National Film Award for his performance in the film Pukar. That is followed by many other films like Nayak, Rishtey, Om Jai Jagadish, Calcutta Mail, Musafir and others, where he delivered splendid performance. The actor achieved international fame with the film Slumdog Millionaire, directed by Danny Boyle. This film won four Golden Globe Aeards and Academy Award for Best Picture.
