Today, it is the birthday of two popular faces of the Indian cinema, Rajesh Khanna and Twinkle Khanna and both share the father and daughter relationship. According to birth stone, Rajesh Khanna, whose original name is Jatin Khanna, was born in Amritsar, Punjab on December 29, 1942. He was adopted and looked after by his foster parents – Chunni Lal Khanna and Leela Wati Khanna. Khanna entered film industry during 1960s and worked in total 180 films that include 163 feature films and 17 short films. And out of 163 movies, he was the lead solo actor in 106 films and appeared in 22 multi starrer movies. His first movie was Aakhri Khat, which was sent as India's entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 40th Oscar Academy Awards. The film, which made him superstar overnight is Aradhana and Rajesh Khanna gave many hits like Haathi Mere Saathi, Kati Patang, Namak Haraam, Amar Prem, Hum Dono, Anand, Safar, Naukri, Amardeep, Dhanwaan, Bawarchi, Mere Jeevan Saathi, Sacha Jhutha, Aap Ki Kasam, Souten, Aakhir Kyon? and lots more. His girlfriend was Anju Mahendru, an aspiring actress but they borke up their relationship in 1972. The next year, he married actress Dimple Kapadia and had two daughters, Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna. He produced three films – Alag Alag, Police Ke Peeche Police, and Jai Shiv Shankar. He also worked in TV serials like Raghukul Reet Sada Chali Aayi, Bhabhimaa, Ittefaque and Apne Paraye. The list of awards won by Khanna are 3 best actor filmfare awards, several BFJA awards for best actor and got nominated for the same nearly 25 times, Filmfare Lifetime Achievement award. He died on 18th July, 2012 due to critical illness. The superstar is likely to be honored with Padma Vibhushan, as recommended by the information and broadcasting ministry.
Twinkle Khanna is celebrating her 38th birthday today. She was born on December 29, 1974 to late Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. She is a Bollywood actress and also worked in a few Telugu films. Her marriage life star when she is married to the popular actor Akshay Kumar and the couple have a son, Aarav Kumar and daughter, Nitara Khanna Bhatia, who is named after Rajest Khanna. She quit the film industry and currently into interior designing. The first movie in her career was Barsaat (1995) that won her the Filmfare Best Debut Actor Award. Twinkle has worked with many top stars in the industry like Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Ajay Devgn etc. The films which won her good recognition include Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hain, Baadshah, and Mela. She also worked with one of the top Telugu actors, Venkatesh in the Telugu film, Seenu. Her last film was Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega, and that was an average success. She owns her own interior designer store, The White Window in Mumbai and that has won the prestigious Elle Decor International Design Award. As a producer, she produced films like Khatta Meetha, Tees Maar Khan and Patiala House.
