Aadesh Srivastava

Aadesh Shrivastava is a well known Indian music composer and singer and today, he celebrates his 47th Birthday. According to his birthday horopscope, he was born on 6 June 1966 in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh in a Hindu Kayastha family. He is married to former actress Vijeta Pandit, who played the lead in Love Story (1981). She is the sister of the popular composer duo Jatin Lalit. In his early days, Aadesh desired of becoming a doctor but his strong passion for music made him a composer today. After learning playing drums, he moved to Mumbai and met composers, Sapan-Jaganmohan. He gradually started establishing himself in the Hindi film industry.

Aadesh Srivastava played drums for a number of composers like O.P. Nayyar, Shankar Jaikishan and others. For over a decade, he even worked as an assistant to Laxmikant-Pyarelal and later, he became a professional composer. The first film for which he composed music is Kanyadaan in 1993. One of the songs in this film was sung by Lata Mangeshkar. The movie, unfortunately did not release. He faced the same for his next film, Jaane Tamanna. Finally, his work came out with Aao Pyaar Karen and one of its song, Haathon mein jo aa gaya became a hit. This is followed by films like Salma Pe Dil Aa Gaya and Shastra. In Shastra, the song kya ada kya jalwe was the chart buster.

This Celebrity again tasted success with the film, Angaarey in 1998. Besides composing, Aadesh also sang lots of songs of which, the popular ones include Gustakhiyaan, Gur nalon ishq mitha, sona sona and many others. His work was highly noticed in films, Kunwara, Shikari and Tarkieb in the year 2000. He again won several accolades with Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hain. Later, he was selected as one of the judges in the talent hunt show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005. He also directed a short film, Sanaa on child prostitution. Aadesh made a cameo appearance in World Cup 2011 and again turned to Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009.

The composer collaborated with Akon, Wyclef Jean and Julia Fordham on the international front and launched a talent search website. He is the vice president of the Music Composers Association of India. In 2010, he was diagnosed with cancer and underwent chemotherapy.
