King Abdullah II


Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, who is the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordon, is celebrating his Birthday today. According to his daily horoscope, Born on 30th January 1962, he was the eldest son of King Hussein of Jordan. In 1980, he joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and was appointed as a Second Lieutenant and also served as a troop commander. He was named as Crown Prince on January 24th by his father and in May 1998, he served as Major General and on 7th February 1999, he ascended the throne upon his father's death. He became the head of the constitutional monarchy and was also selected as the fourth most influential Muslim in the world in 2010.

According to his life report, After King Abdullah II ascended the throne, the economy of Jordan witnessed increased foreign investment, and thriving ICT sector. Five special economic zones were set up, there was a rise in the foreign direct investment from the West and free trade agreement with the United States was also negotiated. He assured residential housing and necessary community needs to Jordanian citizens and Palestinian refugees in 2008 through Decent Housing for Decent Living Campaign. King Abdullah II strived for the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, participated in the Arab Summit in 2002 and many other summits to settle the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.




He strongly belived in the powerful military and made Jordon to follow the quality over quantity policy that resulted in acquiring advanced weaponry and increase its F-16 fighter jet fleet. This Celebrity removed the Crown Prince title and given this title to his son, Hussein bin Abdullah on 2nd July 2009. King Abdullah II wished for making Jordan into a democratic nation but it has been limited as the nation maintains monarchy power and its allies dominates the parliament. In 2007, he revealed the plans of developing nuclear power as it is one among the very few nations that produces no petroleum and has to depend on neighbor country, Iraq for oil.




He put forth the Red Sea – Dead Sea project for the much required water resources. He even proposed the World Interfaith Harmony Week at the UN in 2010 to eradicate all sorts of discrimination and for maintaining cultural peace. He became the first stateman to visit Palestine in the year 2012, after the United Nations changed its status to a nonmember observer state. Alike his Zodiac Sign Aquarius, King Abdullah II is diplomatic, a natural rebel and passionate and his interest and love towards rally racing, sky diving, and science fiction etc, proves that. He even promoted tourism, and interest in motorcycles, internet and information technology. He got married to Rania al-Abdullah and have four children – Crown Prince Hussein, Princess Iman, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem.
