Kirti Azad


Kirti Azad is a former Indian cricketer, who played around 25 One Day International and seven Test matches from 1980 to 1986. According to his birth chart, This cricketer was born to a Hindu family on January 2, 1959 in Purnea city in Bihar. His father is Bhagwat Jha Azad, who was the former Chief Minister of Bihar. Kirti did his schooling in Delhi in the Modern School. He was fond of cricket since his childhood and that made him to join the school cricket team. His hard work and determination made him to become the part of Indian cricket team. Kirti started getting gradual success as a cricketer and the best moment he experienced in his career was of being a part of Indian cricket team when it won the 1983 Cricket World Cup. According to his carrer report, During semi-finals, Kirti's amazing bowling performance was a main factor and advantage that led the team to win the match against England. In 1983, this Celebrity also played against Pakistan in New Delhi. In that match, Pakistan scored 197 runs in 50 overs with a loss of 3 wickets and all the 3 wickets were taken by Kirti Azad. When it was India's turn to bat, Kirti scored a rapid 71 not-out and headed India for a one-wicket victory. His batting performance included seven sixes of which, three were consecutive sixes.

Kirti Azad then moved to broadcasting in English on television after his career in Cricket. This new field didn't bring him success in the initial phase but later, he continued appearing in comparing post match television cricket chat shows in Hindi. Later, he followed the foot steps of his father and started his political career. With the Bharatiya Janata Party ticket from Darbhanga, Bihar, he got elected to the Parliament. Presently, this is his second term in the Lok Sabha but before that, he got elected as an MLA for the Delhi's Gole Market constituency. He was in news during the Indian Premier League in 2012, when a sting operation was done on the players.




He demanded to ban the IPL matches and claimed that players play for money but not for the nation. Coming to his personal life, he got married to Poonam and they have two sons, Surya Azad and Somya Azad, who also took up cricket as their career and represented Delhi at the national level cricket. Kirti Azad belongs to the sun sign Capricorn and he is very ambitious and strongly-determined person. His Horoscope predicts a better new year than the previous one.
