Rambha

Rambha is a popular Indian film actress who celebrated her 39th Birthday. She was actually born as Vijayalakshmi on June 5 1974 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Her father is Venkateshwara Rao and mother Usharani. In 2008, she got married to Indran Pathmanathan. He is the founder and chairman of the kitchen and bathroom manufacturing company, Magickwoods. Rambha is presently the brand ambassador of this firm, which manufacturing facilities are available in Canada, India and China. In 2011, the couple was blessed with a daughter in Toronto. Coming to her professional life, her career of acting in films started with the Kannada film, Server Somanna in 1990.

Rambha then did a film in Malayalam titled Sargam and was paired with actor Vineeth. The film won a National Award and she was given the State Award. The same pair was seen again in Champakulam Thachan in 1992. In 1993, she made her debut with Telugu film, Aa Okkati Adakku followed by Pacha Thoranam, Bangaru Kutumbam, Muddula Priyudu, Alluda Majaka and others. Uzhavan was her first Tamil film and her next, Ullathai Allitha, is one of her biggest hits till date. This film won a lot of name and fame to the actress and she began taking up glam roles.

In 1995 she debuted in Hindi movies with Jallaad and did many other films like Danveer, Jung, Judwaa, Sajana, Bandhan, Krodh, Beti No. 1, Jaani Dushman and others. In the mid 2000s, Rambha started facing tough competition with other actresses in the industry like Simran, Meena, and Nagma etc, and this gradually decreased her offers in films. Rambha also produced a film titled, Three Roses but that was a failure. She won filmfare best actress award for the Bengali film, Chatrapothy and she was last seen in the films, Quick Gun Murugan, Pen Singam, and Filmstar.

Besides maintaining good balance in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films, she also made good name by working in some Bhojpuri films which include Ram Balram, Purav Aur Pachhim, Rasikaa Balma and Banke Bihari M.L.A.
