Nagesh Kukunoor


One of the talented filmmakers and screenwriters of the present time, Nagesh Kukunoor celebrates his Birthday today. He is known for making films that are highly unusual from other movies being made these days. According to his horoscope, He was born on March 30 1967 in Hyderabad to Kusuma Sudarshan and KS Naidu and his Zodiac Sign is Aries. In his childhood, he used to watch several films in theatres in Hindi, Telugu and English languages. Nagesh completed intermediate from Little Flower Junior College, Chemical Engineering at Osmania University and a Bachelor's degree. He received Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia and took up Acting and direction course at the Warehouse Actor's Theater.

The first movie directed and acted by Nagesh Kukunoor was Hyderabad Blues in 1998 and for that, he invested money that he earned from his engineering career. But before that, he also directed a short film, One Culture at a Time and co-produced it. The movie plots around the protagonist, played by Nagesh, who faces culture shock post his return to India from USA after 12 years. This was an independent film featured at Peachtree International Film Festival in Atlanta and Rhode Island International Film Festival and won the Audience Award for best film. Next, he made 3 Deewarein, casting talented actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Juhi Chawla and Jackie Shroff and was premiered at the Kolkata Film Festival.




According to his career horoscope, In 2005, he came up with Iqbal, having stars like Naseeruddin Shah and Shreyas Talpade. The script of this movie is simple yet wonderful and that won lots of critical acclaim. Dor (2006) was the next film of this Celebrity starring Ayesha Takia, Gul Panag and Shreyas Talpade. It was the remake of the Malayalam movie, Perumazhakkalam and received applauds from critics and did well at the box office. Then, he directed another film, 8x10 Tasveer in 2009 with a touch of Hollywood style cinematography. This is followed by Aashayein and Mod, which failed at the box office. The other movies he made in his career include Rockford, Bollywood Calling, Bombay To Bangkok and the upcoming film, Laxmi.




Nagesh received National Film Award for Best film on Other Social Issues for Iqbal, Filmfare Award for Best Story for 3 Deewarein, and Teacher's Achievement Award for Creative and Performing Arts. Being born under the sun sign, Aries, the Horoscope predicts the prosperous period for the director on both personal and professional front. New opportunities will knock the door and most of the time, he will be occupied with work. A little attention towards health is necessary as some minor issues may arise.
