Shoma Anand

Shoma Anand is a well known actress, who has worked in many Indian television shows and films as well. According to her horoscope, She was born on February 16 1958 and today, she is celebrating her 55th Birthday. She began working in films and television from the year 1976 and is active till date. During 1980s and 1990s, Shoma more often accepted the offers of playing supporting roles and did several cameo appearances. Her acting abilities had even won her leading roles in a few movies which are Jagir and Coolie. The film, Jagir starred Dharmendra, Mithun Chakraborty, Zeenat Aman and other actors. Her another film, Coolie was released in 1983 and this blockbuster film had top actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman and others.

But from the late 1990s, Shoma Anand was offered mainly the minor and supporting roles in films. Later, she went on to work in television serials also. One of the popular Indian TV soaps that made her a star on the small screen was Bhabhi. This soap was aired in 2002 on Star Plus and came to an end in 2008. Shoma was a part of the successful sitcom show, Hum Paanch. This sitcom was first aired in 1995 and its second season happened in 2005. Her another successful venture on Television was Shararat, which was a fictional magical comedy television series that was aired on Star Plus.

Following that, she had also displayed her acting abilities in many Punjabi films for some years. Coming to her personal life, her marriage life start when this Celebrity is married to the actor Tariq Shah. The couple have a daughter, whom they named Sarah. The other television serials in which she worked are Gili Gili Gappa and Maayka and the list of movies include Ghar Ek Mandir (1984), Waqt Ki Pukar (1985), Aag Aur Shola (1986), Sitapur Ki Geeta (1987), Dariya Dil (1988), Kal Ho Na Ho (2003), Kya Kool Hai Hum (2005), and Life Partner (2009) etc.

Shoma is an Aquarian by her Zodiac Sign and she is inventive, original and humanitarian. But she is a bit stubborn, rebellious, sarcastic and spontaneous in nature.
