Saroj Khan

Saroj Khan, whose original name is Nirmala Sadhu Singh, is a well known choreographer and also one of the top, in the Hindi film industry. According to her daily horoscope,  She was born on November 22nd 1948 and today, she is celebrating her Birthday.  Saroj Khan began her career as an independent choreographer in Mausam, directed by Gulzar in 1975. Her first breakthrough happened with Hero (1983) made by Subhash Ghai. But, it was her work in Nagina to Sridevi's nagin dance, that fetched her good name and brought her talent to limelight. She became famous by choreographing Madhuri Dixit for the number – Ek Do Teen in the movie Tezaab (1989), which is popular even today. That followed by Choli Ke Peeche dance in Khalnayak. Till now, she has choreographed a number of songs in over 200 movies.

This Celebrity has also made appearance on Television with her own dance class show named, Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan. This programme is aired on NDTV Imagine where she teach dance moves. Saroj Khan also took the responsibility as a judge on popular dance reality shows like Jhalak Dikhla Jaa and Nach Baliye. Her outstanding talent and contribution won her Filmfare Best Choreography Award eight times and she was awarded the National Film Award for Best Choreography thrice.

Saroj Khan's parents were from Pakistan but they came to India at the time of partition in 1947. She entered the film industry as a child actor in the movie Tarana, when she was just two years old. She portrayed the character of little Shyama in that film. Saroj Khan got married at the age of thirteen to B. Shobanlal, who aged 41, also happens to be the celebrity's dance trainer. At that time, Sohanlal was already a married man and had four children. At fourteen she became a mother for her child Hamid Khan. Hamid Khan is known with the name Raju Khan, who is also a famous choreographer in Bollywood.

The couple's second child was Hina Khan (Cuckoo). Later, Sohanlal parted ways with them and left to Madras. Afterwards, Saroj Khan got married to Sardar Roshan Khan and had a duaghter named Sukaina Khan. Even this child is into dancing now and runs a dance institute in Dubai.
