Pran

The veteran actor and popularly known as the Villain of the Millenium, Pran turns 93 and celebrates his Birthday today. According to his daily horoscope, He was born on February 12, 1920 in a Punjabi family in Old Delhi. After his schooling, he joined as an apprentice in a photographer's studio in Delhi as he had a wish of becoming a professional photographer. Pran got his first opportunity to work in a Punjabi film, Yamla Jat (1940) after his meet with the director Dalsukh Pancholi. According to his aquarius horoscope 2013, He, then later, offered a role to Pran in the film, Khandaan (1942) which was his first Hindi film. Until 1947, Pran has worked in 22 films but there appeared a brief pause in his career at the time of India's partition.

Later in 1948, Pran got another chance to work in the film, Ziddi. It was a hit and won him popularity. After that, he signed three more films, Grihasti, Apradhi and Putli, Since then, he was given only negative roles, which was much appreciated. He was also the lead actor in two hit films, Pilpili Saheb and Halaku (1956).In the 60s and 70s era, character roles started coming in for the Celebrity. During 1960s he also acted in some Bengali movies.

By 1997, he became one of the popular character actors and known for his performances in films like Parichay, Hatyara, Zinda Dil, Jaanwar, Raaj Tilak, 1942: A Love Story, Lav Kush and so on. From 1950s to 80s, he was mostly casted along with actor Ashok Kumar and they together worked in 27 films in this duration. Besides, he was also the actor who was paid more than the lead actors in that time. Pran started doing supporting roles after 1980 and he recommended Amitabh Bachchan for the role of Vijay in Zanjeer, which is a superhit film. He faced age related problem in the late 1990s and just made a few guest appearances in some films.

In his entire career, he worked in around 350 films and his Achievements in the form of awards include multiple Filmfare and BFJA awards, Padma Bhushan Award by the Government of India, Lifetime Achievement Award by the Maharashtra Government, Phalke Icon and Legendary Cine Versatile Cine Star Award by Dadasaheb Phalke Academy and he was also listed in the CNN's Top 25 Asian actors of all time in 2010. Lately, Pran was hospitalized with respiratory problem and there were rumors about his death. But the hospital's spokesperson cleared it out saying that the actor is recovering and doing well. Pran was born under the Zodiac Sign Aquarius. He is a very emotional and sensitive person. His experiences in life, has made him wise, understanding and strongly determined. He is loyal and friendly and these excellent qualities of him, helped him to gain success and make a mark in the Hindi film industry from a long time.
