Ravindra Jain

Ravindra Jain is a veteran Indian music composer, singer and lyricist. According to his birth chart, He was born blind on February 28 1944 in Rajashthan to Sanskrit scholar and Ayurvedacharya, Pandit Indramani Jain and Kiran Jain and today, he is celebrating his Birthday. In childhood, with the support and encouragement of his parents, he took training in music under Pandit G.L. Jain, Pandit Janardhan Sharma and Pandit Nathu Ram. According to his career horoscope, he began his career as the Hindi music director in the early 1970s. Later, he became a notable music director who composed music for films like Chor Machaye Shor (1974), Geet Gaata Chal (1975), Chitchor (1976) and Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se (1978). Besides composing, Ravindra Jain also write lyrics to songs. Actor Raj Kapoor, given him a big break and Jain composed beautiful tunes for his films, Ram Teri Ganga Maili and Heena.

He also composed music for several films that came under the Rajshri Productions. His extraordinary work can be seen in regional language movies like Malayalam, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Bengali and Telugu. Between 1980s and 90s, he composed music for mythological films like Navaratri, Har Har Gange, Brahmarishi Vishwamitra and others. He delivered music for the 2006 hit film, Vivah and its sequel, Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi. His projects in the last year include Baromas and Barbareek – Sheesh Danee Mahayoddha, which is based on Barbarika.

Ravindra Jain has given many hits in collaboration with the South Indian singing sensation, Dr. K. J. Yesudas. Their outstanding contribution include memorable songs like Oo goriya re (Naiyya), Gori tera gaon (Chitchor) and Beeti hui raat ki (Ayyash) etc. Apart from films, Jain also composed several private albums that include Malayalam albums, ghazals and bhajans too. He worked for television serials as well and composed music, songs and bhajans for the TV series, Ramayan and Luv Kush. The other serials include Noopur, Shri Krishna, Alif Laila, Jai Hanuman, and others. He was a judge on the music reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009.

His Achievements as a music composer include several awards like Filmfare Award, Priyadarshini Award, Sangeet Gyaneshwar Award, Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards, Sahitya award and honours by film and cultural institutions at the national and international level. He is married to poetess Divya Jain and have a son, Aayushman Jain. Ravindra Jain is a Piscean as per his Pisces zodiac sign and he is intuitive, idealistic, responsible and emotional.
