The talented actress, who won several hearts with her beauty and excellent acting abilities during nineties', Madhoo, is celebrating her birthday today. She is an Aries, who was born on March 26 1972 to Raghunath and Renuka. Accoding to her horoscope, She was born as Madhubala Raghunath, named after the late popular actress, Madhubala. Her father, Raghunath is the brother of the popular actress, Hema Malini. She was at a very young age of thirteen when her mother died of cancer. When she started entering her teenage, she looked upon her aunt, Hema Malini, as her role model. Madhoo took training and learnt Bharatnatyam and later, she joined the Roshan Taneja's School of Acting and took up the course of acting. Madhoo stepped into the film industry with the Malayalam film, Ottayal Pattalam in 1990. Then in 1991, she was selected in a Tamil film, Azhagan, by the well known filmmaker, K. In 1991 itself, she debuted in Hindi films with the successful, Phool Aur Kaante opposite Ajay Devgan and worked in two other Malayalam films named, Neelagiri and Ennodishtam Koodamo. The biggest turning point and one of the major Achievements in her career was to work in the film Roja (1992), directed by Mani Rathnam. This is one of the most successful films ever and its songs and music by A. R. Rahman are still a hit.

Although, Madhoo has worked in many other films post Roja, but none of them recreated its success. Coming to her personal life, in her marriage life she is married to industrialist Anand Shah on February 19 1999 and the couple have two daughters, Ameyaa and Keia.
