Sanjay Khan

Abbas Khan, who is popular as Sanjay Khan, is an actor, director, and producer of Hindi films. According ot his horoscope, He was born on 3rd January, 1941 in Bangalore. His father was an Afghan immigrant and mother was of Iranian background. He has three brothers, Feroz Khan, Akbar Khan and Sameer. Both Feroz and Akbar are into films and Sameer looks after the family-run Golden Palms Spa that is present in Bangalore. In his marriage life, Sanjay Khan's wife is Zarine Khan, a Parsi and the couple have three daughters and a son – Farah, Simone, Suzanne Khan and Zayed Khan. Zayed Khan is a Bollywood actor and Suzanne is the wife of actor Hrithik Roshan.

Sanjay Khan's entry into movies happened with the film Haqeeqat in 1964, directed by Chetan Anand. He had a brief role to play in this movie, His next film, Dosti, that released in the same year, was a blockbuster. And Dosti is the film that turned Abbas Khan into Sanjay Khan. It was a Hindu-dominated film industry at that time and hence, many actors had to change and choose Hindu names and that includes Sanjay too. The actor has worked in more than 30 films and maximum of them are hits and popular till date.

Some of his hit films include Ek Phool Do Mali, Intaqam, Upaasna, Mela, and Nagin. He not only acted but also directed and produced three films which are Chandi Sona, Abdullah and Kala Dhanda Goray Log. After the film Kala Dhanda Goray Log, he quit films and started acting and directing television series. The first television series that he directed and was the lead is The Sword Of Tipu Sultan. Later, he took up only direction after the mishap at Premier Studios, where he got severly burnt in fire during the shoot.

Then, he directed the popular TV series The Great Maratha and that is followed by Jai Hanuman. The other series and dramas which he directed include Maha Kavya Mahabharat, Akbar the Great, 1857 Kranti, Maharathi Karna and a movie named, Maryada Purushottam. Being a married person, Sanjay had married actress Zeenat Aman but that didn't worked out. It is said that in a party at Taj, Sanjay had a fight with Zeenat and he ended up damaging her eye permanently. Sanjay Khan is celebrating his birthday today and he is a Capricorn.
