Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez was born on 22nd July 1992 in Grand Prairie Texas US. Gomez is an American singer, actress and fashion designer. She is the daughter of former stage actress Amanda Dawn ‘Mandy’ Teefey and Ricardo Joel Gomez. She was named Gomez after Tejano singer Selena who died almost three years after the birth of Selena Gomez.

Gomez made her debut in Barney & Friends lasting from 2002 to 2004. She has worked as Spy Kids 3D: Game over 2003, Texas Ranger: trial by Fire (2005), Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody as well as Hannah Montana. She starred in the Disney channel television series Wizard of Waverly place, this series was a critical success which brought Gomez numerous awards and nominations. She appeared in various Disney channel series and films like Jonas Brothers: Living Dream and Disney Channel Games, Princess Protection Program and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie before. She also launched her studio album as Selena Gomez & the scene titled Kiss & Tell which was a commercial success and peaking inside the top 10 Billboard 200, after this she released her album A Year Without Rain which topped 5 in Billboard 200.

She Started working in other movies like Ramona and Beezus Monte Carlo, The Muppets Hotel, Transylvania and Spring Breakers. She further released her albums which were big hit. Her few films coming up in 2013 and 2014 are After Shock, Behaving Badly, Getaway and Rudderless. Some of her television series are “The suite life on Deck, sonny with a chance, So Random, Prankstars and The wizards Return: Alex Vs Alex. Gomez was named spokesperson for UNICEF in 2009 for Trick or Treat campaign, and for this she hosted a live web cast series on Facebook. In 2011 she participated in UNICEF Tap Project “Celebrity Tap Pack” custom made water bottles featuring tap water from the homes of each celebrity in order to raise the funds and to promote clean water and sanitation programs.
