But because of several delays in the making of Socha Na Tha, Taarzan: The Wonder Car was released first thus, making it her debut film. For this movie, she received Best Female Debut Actress Award from Filmfare, IIFA and Star's Sabsey Favorite Nayi Heroine and for the same, she was nominated for Screen and Zee Cine Awards.

The following years, Ayesha worked in movies of which most of them were poor at the box office like Home Delivery, Shaadi Se Pehle, and Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota etc. Her next film Dor in 2006, can be stated as a milestone in her film career.
