Mandira Bedi

Mandira Bedi is a punjabi-speaking Indian actress, model and television presenter, who celebrates her 41st Birthday today. She was born on April 15 1972 in Kolkata to Verinder Singh Bedi and Gita Bedi but was brought up in Mumbai. She completed her schooling at Mumbai's Cathedral and John Connon School, graduation in Economics from St. Xavier's College and went to Sophia Polytech to complete post graduation in Media. Her career in acting began with the television serial titled, Shanti on Doordarshan in 1994. It was the first daily soap on Indian television and became a great success. Following that, she appeared in shows like Aurat and Dushman. Her good acting ability won her a supporting role in the superhit film, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995).

Mandira Bedi again signed up for a daily soap named, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which fetched her good name and recognition. Her next stint as television presenter happened with reality shows such as Fame Gurukul, Deal Ya No Deal and Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star. She even posed for the men's popular magazine, Maxim India. Mandira was also chosen as a judge for the comedy shows named, Funjabi Chak De and Laughter Knights and she was the only female winner to win the show, Fear Factor India.

Between 2003 and 2007, this Celebrity hosted for ICC Cricket World Cups, for the Champions Trophies in 2004 and 2006 and for the Indian Premier League second season. It was Mandira, who fronted the coverage of the third season of IPL for ITV, which is the British network. In 2008, she appeared in a feature film, Meerabai Not Out, which is based on Cricket and that is followed by the movie, 42 Kms in 2010. Her popularity as a cricket show anchor has made her host nearly 150 corporate events, shows and awards for renowned companies like Samsung, ICICI bank, HSBC, Asian Paints, BMW, Canon, Puma, Accenture and others.

In 2004 and 2005, she was made the brand ambassador of women's cricket team. Bedi received two style awards, The MTV Lycra Style Award and the DNA Style Award for the most stylish person on television.
