Asha Sachdev is a beautiful and talented actress who is celebrating her Birthday today. Being an alumna of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, she was very passionate about films and acting. Being a part of Hindi film industry was her aim and she fulfilled her dream. Asha stepped into the film industry at a very young age. She joined Roshan Taneja's acting classes and during that time, she was approached by Mahesh Bhatt for the film, Manzilen Aur Bhi Hain but she could not do it due to date issues. Then happened Bindiya Aur Bandook, a B grade film, which turned out successful. After losing offers of several good films, Asha Sachdev luckily got an opportunity to work in Double Cross, that came under Navketan banner. The film was although unsuccessful, she won appreciation for her bold and dynamic role.

Post this film, most of the roles she was offered were of bold and supporting characters. She then starred in the 1974 film, Woh Main Nahin that created a storm. This film helped her later in getting more item dance numbers and vamp roles. In 1977, she worked in the hit film, Agent Vinod opposite Mahendra Sandhu, who then became a hit pair on screen. This Celebrity played the lead in Ek Hi Raasta that had Jeetendra and Shabana Azmi as the second lead. In 1978, film director Basu Chatterjee selected her for an important role in the movie, Priyatama. This film launched Neetu Singh as an actress and Asha Sachdev portrayed the character of Neetu's best friend, and this was completely different from her previous roles.

For her performance, she received the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. Following that, she worked in many successful movies like Satte Pe Satta, The Burning Train, Eeshwae, Agneepath, Judaai, and Premrog etc. Asha even appeared playing character roles in the movies Fiza, Aghaaz, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and Aaja Nachle etc. Despite playing supporting roles, she is still noted for her bold performances during 70s and 80s. Asha is also a known face on the small screen as she appeared in the early soap opera, Buniyaad in 1986 and in Jugni Chali Jalandhar in 2008 that also had actor Ranjeet. Asha Sachdev is a Gemini born individual. She is intelligent, sensitive and known for multitasking.
