Kylie Minogue

The most popular singer, songwriter, actress, showgirl and entrepreneur, Kylie Ann Minogue, celebrates her 45th Birthday today. She was born on 28 May 1968 in Melbourne, Australia and the eldest of three children. Her career began as a child actress but it is the television soap opera, Neighbours (1985), that won her recognition and her career as a recording artist. In 1987, she released her first single, The Loco-Motion that topped the charts. The next year, she came with her first album, Kylie that became the year's highest selling album. Her next albums were Enjoy Yourself (1989), Let's Get To It (1992), Kylie Minogue (1994), and Impossible Princess with the Main Street Preachers in 1996. She even made an appearance in Jean Claude Van Damme's film, Street Fighter.



In 2000, she joined Parlophone and turned to the pop and achieved success with albums, Light Years, and Fever and singles. Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and underwent surgery. She was back with her digital-only single, Over the Rainbow, a live recording from her Showgirl tour. Kylie is also a writer who has written the children's book, The Showgirl Princess. In 2006, Minogue resumed her Showgirl – Homecoming Tour that included her performance in Sydney. Her first studio album, X, was released in 2007 that featured 13 tracks. The same time, she also worked in a documentary, White Diamond.



This Celebrity was honoured with an Order of the British Empire in 2008 for her services to music. In 2009, she hosted the Brit Awards and appeared in a song in the Hindi film, Blue. Then the remix album, Boombox was released that had remixes of her greatest hits. Following that, Aphrodite was released in 2010 which was her 11th studio album. Kylie was on the Aphrodite: Les Folies Tour in 2011 and that was her biggest tour till date. Minogue was involved in a year long celebration in 2012 for completing 25 years in the music industry.



The same year, the single Timebomb, the album The Best of Kylie Minogue and the singles box set, K25 Time Capsule were released. Currently, she is working on her twelfth studio album which is slated to be released soon. Kylie is a Gemini woman and she is versatile, sensitive and enthusiastic. She is highly determined when it comes to work and her goals. She is indeed energetic but her nervousness makes her to fickle at times.
