Madhuri Dixit

One of the best Bollywood actresses, Madhuri Dixit, popularly known as the Dhak Dhak girl, celebrates her 46th Birthday today. Being close to her 50s yet she appears as charming and beautiful as ever. She was born on 15 May 1967 to Shankar and Snehalata Dixit in a Marathi Hindu brahmin family in Mumbai and belongs to Taurus zodiac sign. She started learning Kathak at the age of three and very fond of dancing. Madhuri wanted to become a microbiologist and joined Mumbai University. Her acting debut happened in 1984 with the film, Abodh which won her positive reviews but the film failed. Next came Awara Baap in 1985 which was another failure. She achieved stardom with her first hit film, Tezaab and both her acting and dancing abilities were recognized.

Her dance act on the track, Ek Do Teen is still a huge hit. Since then, this Celebrity never looked back and appeared in some good films like Ram Lakhan, Prem Pratigyaa, Tridev, Parinda and others. In 1990, she worked in the biggest blockbuster film of that year, Dil alongside Aamir Khan and her performance won her the first Filmfare Best Actress Award. Next came Saajan and Beta and the list of successful movies include Khalnayak, Anjaam, the all-time blockbuster Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Raja, Mrityudand, and others.

Dil To Pagal Hain was another hit film under Yash Raj banner and won the Filmfare Award. Given any role, she carries it off easily and delivers her best performance. Her beauty and grace besides acting are her assets and that made Madhuri Dixit, a superstar today. In 2000, she worked opposite Anil Kapoor and Namrata Shirodkar in Pukar, which turned out a moderate success. Her role as Chandramukhi in Devdas is one of her most remembered works which was also featured at Cannes Film Festival. The previous year, she got married to Shriram Madhav Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon in Denver. They have two sons, Arin and Raayan. After Devdas, she left acting to raise her children.

Madhuri made her come back with Aaja Nachle in 2006 but that was an average success. In 2010, she was honoured with a Filmfare Special Award for her 25 years in Bollywood. She is presently working in the film, Gulaab Gang and Dedh Ishqiya which will release this year. Madhuri also made television appearances through shows like Kaun Banega Crorepati, Koffee with Karan, Nach Baliye, and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Being a Taurean, she is emotional, independent, artistic and loyal person. Madhuri has the ability to deal things in a wise way and can handle stress.
